When fashion stylist Eric Himel first approached RRPR in 2009, he had just moved to Chicago from Los Angeles where he had been living and working for the past 13 years. His credentials were solid (he studied under Project Runway’s Tim Gunn at Parsons and had committed clients in Manhattan, L.A. and Dallas), but he was virtually unknown in the Second City—with no media experience or exposure to speak of. Inspired by Himel’s enthusiasm and style savvy, RRPR spearheaded a partnership with the budding stylist to get the word out and establish him as a recognizable fashion authority in Chicago and across the Midwest. For starters, RRPR put together a press release organizing and itemizing his unique styling services. Next, monopolizing on Himel’s big personality and insider relationships with retail heavies like Bottega Veneta, Barneys New York and Marlowe, RRPR initiated a media blitz that secured Himel as Chicago’s premiere fashion go-to-guy. Highlighting Himel’s signature service, the “closet purge,” and positioning Eric as the expert in trends and all things fashion is an ongoing, multi-prong approach to his public relations needs. Himel is now a respected industry name in the Windy City and both the media and his clients (among them Bachelorette Jillian Harris) trust that he is in-the-know, connected and a styling force to be reckoned with. RRPR continues to lock in media lunch dates and shopping excursions/services with Himel on a weekly basis. To date, RRPR has secured media spots for Eric Himel in the following outlets: WGN TV 9, NBC TV 5, Chicago Tribune, CS magazine, InTouch, Dailycandy.com, Cheeky Chicago, Above the Fray magazine, Glossed & Found, Citysearch.com, Playboy, Where Traveler, Time Out! Chicago and Factio magazine.
