This year, Shaw’s Crab House celebrates its 25th anniversary. The milestone also marks a five-year collaboration with RRPR. In early 2005, RRPR was brought on to manage all public relations for Shaw’s Crab House, a 1940s-chic take on the seafood dining experience from top-grossing Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises restaurant group. For Shaw’s two Chicago-area locations, RRPR has consistently worked closely with the management teams, successfully launching PR campaigns to refresh and reintroduce the restaurant concept, bringing it to the forefront of the media’s attention both locally and nationally. Because of Shaw’s longstanding commitment to the best quality seafood in Chicago, flying in fresh harvests daily from the Atlantic, Gulf and Pacific Coasts, RRPR circulates year-round menu specials and promotes culinary events and festivals (think Smelt Fest, Oyster Fest and Crab Fest). And in a push to eloquently communicate Shaw’s multi-dining experiences under one roof at the downtown location (the space is divided into two interconnected concepts—a formal dining room and a more casual Oyster Bar separated by a full bar lounge), RRPR is proud to do double duty for the restaurant. Thus, thanks to RRPR’s understanding and enthusiasm for the brand, media recognition has resulted in Shaw’s being awarded “Best Oysters,” “Best Lobster Roll,” “Best Sunday Brunch,” “Best Seafood Smorgasbord” and “Best High-End Holiday Gift” for their Alaskan King Crab by Mail by prominent publications. It goes without saying that RRPR is an integral and important extension of the Shaw’s Crab House team, as exhibited by press spots in: Food & Wine, New York Times, Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times, CS Magazine, Michigan Avenue Magazine, Chicago Magazine, North Shore Magazine,, Red Eye, Where Chicago Magazine, Concierge Preferred Magazine, Nation’s Restaurant News, Restaurants & Institutions, Food Arts, Vanity Fair, Virtual Gourmet,,, 312 Dining Diva, Zagat, West Suburban Living and more.
